"My Spirit Upon All People"

The question asked: Do all people have the Holy Spirit?

• PHYSICALLY - YES

• SPIRITUALLY - NO

➡️ All living things are ALIVE PHYSICALLY by the breath of God.

God GAVE LIFE to EVERYTHING on earth when He created it.

Acts 17:28 "For IN HIM WE LIVE AND MOVE AND EXIST. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

Job 34:14-15 “If God were to take back his spirit and WITHDRAW HIS BREATH, ALL LIFE WOULD CEASE, and humanity would turn again to dust.” 

• Psalm 33:15 “HE MADE THEIR HEARTS, SO HE UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING THEY DO."

➡️ This is NOT the same as having RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT!

We are all BORN SINNERS, made out of clay of the ground. Only Jesus Christ was CONCEIVED by the Holy Spirit ➡️ He never sinned! He was born with the Holy Spirit, lived with the Holy Spirit, died with the Holy Spirit, and was raised to life by the power of the Holy Spirit WITHIN HIM.

To RECEIVE the Holy Spirit - is to be BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit. It REQUIRES FAITH in Jesus Christ as God and Savior, and REPENTANCE. This is being BORN AGAIN.

🔥 So it's completely FALSE to say "Everyone has the Holy Spirit." It's like saying, "We never sinned and don't need to repent, we are born holy and there's no need to be Born Again!" 🤥 This is delusional. If that was the case, then there was no need for Christ to die!

• 1 John 1:8-10 “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”

THE HOLY SPIRIT MAKES A PERSON HOLY. There is no such thing as a "holy sinner."

Acts 2:38–39 

“Peter replied, “Each of you MUST REPENT of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS. 

THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—ALL WHO HAVE BEEN CALLED BY THE LORD OUR GOD.” 

• John 5:14 “But afterward Jesus found him in the Temple and told him, “Now you are well; so STOP SINNING, or something even worse may happen to you.”

• 1 Corinthians 15:34 “Think carefully about what is right, and STOP SINNING. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.”

Acts 8:15–17 

“As soon as they arrived, they prayed for these new believers TO RECEIVE the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit had NOT YET come upon any of them, for they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, AND THEY RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT.” 

John‬ 3‬:27‬ 

”John replied, “No one can receive anything UNLESS GOD GIVES IT FROM HEAVEN.“ 

• Luke‬ 24‬:49‬ “And now I WILL SEND THE HOLY SPIRIT, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES AND FILLS YOU WITH POWER FROM HEAVEN."

2 Thessalonians 2:13

“As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God CHOSE YOU to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through THE SPIRIT WHO MAKES YOU HOLY and through your BELIEF IN THE TRUTH.”

However, there are still some ignorant people who think it's ok to just disregard all this Scripture because they decided to hang onto ONE verse they taken out of context:

So let's get the CONTEXT! This verse is originally from the Book of Joel.

The context consists of:

1. A Call to Repentance

2. The Lord’s Promise of Restoration (FORGIVENESS OF SINS)

3. The Lord’s Promise of His Spirit (THE HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM)

Joel 2:12-32 

A Call to Repentance 

“That is why the Lord says, “TURN TO ME NOW, WHILE THERE IS TIME. GIVE ME YOUR HEARTS. COME WITH FASTING, WEEPING, AND MOURNING. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” RETURN TO THE LORD YOUR GOD, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Who knows? Perhaps he will give you a reprieve, sending you a blessing instead of this curse. Perhaps you will be able to offer grain and wine to the Lord your God as before. Blow the ram’s horn in Jerusalem! Announce a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Gather all the people—the elders, the children, and even the babies. Call the bridegroom from his quarters and the bride from her private room. Let the priests, who minister in the Lord’s presence, STAND AND WEEP between the entry room to the Temple and the altar. Let them pray, “Spare your people, Lord! Don’t let your special possession become an object of mockery. Don’t let them become a joke for unbelieving foreigners who say, ‘Has the God of Israel left them?’” 

The Lord’s Promise of Restoration (FORGIVENESS)

THEN THE LORD WILL PITY HIS PEOPLE and jealously guard the honor of his land. The Lord will reply, “Look! I am sending you grain and new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy your needs. You will no longer be an object of mockery among the surrounding nations. I will drive away these armies from the north. I will send them into the parched wastelands. Those in the front will be driven into the Dead Sea, and those at the rear into the Mediterranean. The stench of their rotting bodies will rise over the land.” Surely the Lord has done great things! Don’t be afraid, O land. Be glad now and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things. Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field, for the wilderness pastures will soon be green. The trees will again be filled with fruit; fig trees and grapevines will be loaded down once more. Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem! Rejoice in the Lord your God! For the rain he sends demonstrates his faithfulness. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring. The threshing floors will again be piled high with grain, and the presses will overflow with new wine and olive oil. The Lord says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you. Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced. Then you will know that I am among my people Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and there is no other. Never again will my people be disgraced. 

The Lord’s Promise of His Spirit (THE HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM)

“THEN, AFTER DOING ALL THOSE THINGS, I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT UPON ALL PEOPLE. YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHESY. YOUR OLD MEN WILL DREAM DREAMS, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN WILL SEE VISIONS. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike. And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth—blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives. BUT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said. These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called.” 

• Are " YOUR Sons and Daughters" - ALL PEOPLE on earth?! NO! Those are only the people who REPENTED, received FORGIVENESS, and got BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 

The Temple of the Living God 

“Don’t team up with those who are UNBELIEVERS. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF LIVING GOD. As God said: 

“I WILL LIVE IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore, COME OUT FROM AMONG UNBELIEVERS, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and YOU WILL BE MY SONS AND DAUGHTERS, says the Lord Almighty.” 

Acts 5:29–32 

“But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority. The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead after you killed him by hanging him on a cross. Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this so the people of Israel would repent of their sins and be forgiven. WE ARE WITNESSES OF THESE THINGS AND SO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHO IS GIVEN BY GOD TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM.” 

• How CRAZY it is to think that the Spirit of God would join with and prophesy through an atheist, an arrogant mocker, a wicked criminal, a selfish narcissist, a pedophile, an idol worshipper, FALSE PROPHETS, and all those who REJECTED Him?! Not to mention the fulfillment of the coming judgment! Where is the common sense in this? 🤯 There is NONE.

2 Peter 3:3-4

“Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

Acts 8:18-23 

“When Simon saw that the Spirit was given when the apostles laid their hands on people, he offered them money to buy this power. “LET ME HAVE THIS POWER, TOO,” he exclaimed, “so that when I lay my hands on people, they will receive the Holy Spirit!” 

But Peter replied, “May your money be destroyed with you for thinking God’s gift can be bought! YOU CAN HAVE NO PART IN THIS, FOR YOUR HEART IS NOT RIGHT WITH GOD. REPENT OF YOUR WICKEDNESS and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts, for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are HELD CAPTIVE BY SIN.” 

There are NO contradictions in the Bible, but people through their lack of knowledge and lack of understanding CREATE those contradictions ➡️ instead of acknowledging their SINS and REPENTING.

Galatians 5:19–25 

“When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. 

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! 

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.”
