Hebrews 13:8

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Luke 24:25-27

“Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn’t it clearly predicted that THE MESSIAH would have to suffer all these things before entering HIS GLORY?” Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things CONCERNING HIMSELF.”

Physical = Seeing

VS.

Spiritual = Believing

2 Corinthians 5:7

“For we live by believing and NOT by seeing.”

FREEDOM FROM EGYPT.

The Firstborn sacrifice is a SYMBOL of the price for freedom.

Exodus 4:21-23

“And the Lord told Moses, “When you arrive back in Egypt, go to Pharaoh and perform all the miracles I have empowered you to do. But I will harden his heart so he will refuse to let the people go. Then you will tell him, ‘This is what the Lord says: ISRAEL IS MY FIRSTBORN SON. I commanded you, “Let my son go, so he can worship me.” But since you have refused, I will now kill YOUR FIRSTBORN SON!’”

Isaiah 43:3–4

“For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, YOUR SAVIOR. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.”

• Acts 3:23 “And it is one of King David’s descendants, JESUS, who is God’s promised SAVIOR OF ISRAEL!”

The story of Egypt is a PHYSICAL SYMBOL because people were only freed from Egypt physically. However, this physical freedom DID NOT CHANGE THEIR HEARTS - they were still controlled by their sinful nature because they had NO FAITH - they kept disobeying God despite promising obedience at Mount Sinai. As a result, God plagued them in the wilderness over the next 40 years.

Only the remnant survived and occupied the promised land.

SPIRITUALLY ➡️ EGYPT is THE SINFUL NATURE.

God’s FIRSTBORN SON, Jesus Christ, the visible image of the invisible God - has come to be a SACRIFICE FOR FREEDOM from THE SLAVERY OF THE SINFUL NATURE - Spiritual Egypt.

• John 8:34 “Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, EVERYONE WHO SINS IS A SLAVE OF SIN.”

Jesus Christ took the punishment upon Himself to FREE those who have FAITH in Him. By dying on the cross physically and rising back to Life in Spirit. In this way, He won over death (sin) and MADE A WAY OUT OF Spiritual Egypt.

• John 14:6 “Jesus told him, “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Hebrews 10:8–10

“First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. For God’s will was FOR US TO BE MADE HOLY by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.”

• Ephesians‬ 1‬:7‬ ‬ “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”

HOLINESS VS. SINFULNESS

• Only the Holy people can obey the Holy Law.

• No one can become Holy without receiving the Holy Spirit. God is Spirit and He is REAL. (It's an event that cannot be missed or imagined)

• Holiness is the opposite of Sinfulness. That's why sinners can never obey the law.

• Therefore, only when the sinful nature is DEAD ➡️ BY THE POWER OF GOD - is a person truly FREE from Sin = Egypt and able to obey God’s Laws. God (Jesus Christ) is the only one who can remove our sinful nature and make us Holy.

• It's done by Faith and genuine Repentance.

*The repetition of sin means sinful nature has never been nailed to the cross and a person is still enslaved in Egypt. Whoever receives the Holy Spirit and later willingly goes back to Spiritual Egypt, can never be redeemed again.

• Romans 6:19 “Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you MUST give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become HOLY.”

1 Peter 1:2

“This letter is from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ.

I am writing to GOD'S CHOSEN people who are living as foreigners in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.

“God the Father KNEW YOU and CHOSE you long ago, and HIS SPIRIT HAS MADE YOU HOLY. AS A RESULT, YOU HAVE OBEYED HIM and have been cleansed BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.

May God give you more and more grace and peace.”

Ezekiel 36:25–27

“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a NEW HEART, and I will put A NEW SPIRIT IN YOU. I WILL TAKE OUT your stony, stubborn heart and GIVE YOU a tender, responsive heart. And I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT IN YOU SO THAT YOU WILL FOLLOW MY DECREES AND BE CAREFUL TO OBEY MY REGULATIONS."

Colossians 2:11–15

“When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a SPIRITUAL CIRCUMCISION—THE CUTTING AWAY OF YOUR SINFUL NATURE. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to NEW LIFE BECAUSE YOU TRUSTED THE MIGHTY POWER OF GOD, WHO RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD.

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you ALIVE with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.”

DARKNESS VS. THE LIGHT

Exodus 10:21-23

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Lift your hand toward heaven, and THE LAND OF EGYPT WILL BE COVERED WITH A DARKNESS so thick you can feel it.” So Moses lifted his hand to the sky, and a deep darkness covered the entire land of Egypt for three days. During all that time the people could not see each other, and no one moved. But there was LIGHT as usual where the people of Israel lived.”

• John 8:12 “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I AM THE LIGHT of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that LEADS TO LIFE.”

• 1 Thessalonians 5:4-8 “But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and YOU WON'T BE SURPRISED when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. For you are all CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, NOT ASLEEP like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let US WHO LIVE IN THE LIGHT be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our SALVATION.”

Two months after God led the people of Israel out of Egypt to Mount Sinai, He gave these instructions to Moses:

MOUNT SINAI VS. MOUNT ZION

Exodus 19:10

“Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and PREPARE THE PEOPLE FOR MY ARRIVAL. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and HAVE THEM WASH THEIR CLOTHING."

• Malachi 3:1-2 “Look! I am sending my messenger, and HE WILL PREPARE THE WAY BEFORE ME. Then the Lord you are seeking will SUDDENLY come to his Temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “But who will be able to endure it when he comes? Who will be able to stand and face him when he appears? For he will be like a blazing fire that refines metal, or like a strong soap that bleaches clothes.”

• The messenger who prepared the way for the Lord was John the Baptist, who baptized people with water as a symbol of their REPENTANCE.

Water baptism is a preparation for the receiving of the Holy Spirit. It's only the first step toward receiving Him, and it does not happen at the same time.

• Water baptism without Repentance does not count.

• Repetition of sin is a lack of Repentance and will result in death.

John 3:27-36

John replied, “No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven. You yourselves know how plainly I told you, ‘I am not the Messiah. I am only here to prepare the way for him.’ It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

• The bridegroom is the Holy Spirit, and the bride is the person who receives the Holy Spirit. The bridegroom's friend is the water baptism (a separate action). God examines hearts and tests if faith is genuine before deciding on whether or not a person is worthy of receiving Him.

“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

• John 1:18 “No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, WHO IS HIMSELF GOD, is near to the Father’s heart. He has REVEALED God to us.”

Hebrews 12:18-24

“YOU HAVE NOT COME TO A PHYSICAL MOUNTAIN, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking. They staggered back under God’s command: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” MOSES himself was so frightened at the sight that he said, “I am terrified and trembling.”

NO, YOU HAVE COME TO MOUNT ZION, TO THE CITY OF THE LIVING GOD, THE HEAVENLY JERUSALEM, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. You have come to JESUS, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.”

TABERNACLE

Exodus 20:24

“Build for me an ALTAR MADE OF EARTH, and offer your sacrifices to me—your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I WILL COME TO YOU AND BLESS YOU."

ALTAR MADE OF EARTH;

• Genesis 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”

OFFER OF SACRIFICE;

• Psalm 119:108 “Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.”

• Psalm 141:2 "Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering.”

• Proverbs 15:8 “The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but he delights in the prayers of the upright.”

"I WILL COME TO YOU AND BLESS YOU"

• John 14:22-26 “Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, “Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?” Jesus replied, “All who LOVE ME will do what I say. My Father will LOVE THEM, and WE WILL COME AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH EACH OF THEM. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, THE HOLY SPIRIT—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”

• John 6:63-65 "The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very WORDS I have spoken to you are SPIRIT AND LIFE. But some of you do not believe me.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning which ones didn’t believe, and he knew who would betray him.) Then he said, “That is why I said that people can’t come to me unless the Father gives them to me.”

• Galatians 4:5-7 “God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent THE SPIRIT OF HIS SON into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.”

Exodus 20:25

"If you use STONES to build my altar, use ONLY NATURAL, UNCUT STONES. Do not shape the stones with a tool, for that would make the altar UNFIT FOR HOLY USE."

• 1 Peter 2:5 “And YOU ARE THE LIVING STONES that God is building into his SPIRITUAL TEMPLE. What’s more, you are his HOLY priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES that please God.”

Exodus 20:26

"And do not approach my altar by going up steps. If you do, someone might look up under your clothing and see your nakedness.”

• Matthew 20:25-28 “But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those UNDER them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

John 4:21-24

“Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. But the time is coming—INDEED IT'S HERE NOW—when TRUE WORSHIPERS will worship the Father IN SPIRIT and in TRUTH. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For GOD IS SPIRIT, so those who worship him MUST WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH."

John 20:28-29

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.

Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

Acts 7:46-51

“David found favor with God and asked for the privilege of building a permanent Temple for the God of Jacob. But it was Solomon who actually built it. However, the Most High DOESN'T LIVE IN TEMPLES MADE BY HUMAN HANDS. As the prophet says, ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that?’ asks the Lord. ‘Could you build me such a resting place? Didn’t my hands make both heaven and earth?’

“You stubborn people! YOU ARE HEATHEN AT HEART AND DEAF TO THE TRUTH. MUST YOU FOREVER RESIST THE HOLY SPIRIT? THAT'S WHAT YOUR ANCESTORS DID, AND SO DO YOU!"

OFFERINGS FOR THE TABERNACLE

Exodus 25:8 “Have the people of Israel build me a HOLY SANCTUARY SO I CAN LIVE AMONG THEM."

• 2 Corinthians 6:16 “And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For WE ARE THE TEMPLE of the living God. As God said: “I WILL LIVE IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

Isaiah 66:1-4

“This is what the Lord says:

“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place? My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word. But those who choose their own ways—delighting in their detestable sins—will NOT have their offerings accepted. When such people sacrifice a bull, it is no more acceptable than a human sacrifice. When they sacrifice a lamb, it’s as though they had sacrificed a dog! When they bring an offering of grain, they might as well offer the blood of a pig. When they burn frankincense, it’s as if they had blessed an idol. I will send them great trouble—all the things they feared. For when I called, they did not answer. When I spoke, they did not listen. They deliberately sinned before my very eyes and chose to do what they know I despise.”

ARK OF THE COVENANT

Exodus 25:16 “When the Ark is finished, PLACE INSIDE IT THE STONE TABLETS inscribed with the terms of THE COVENANT, which I will give to you.”

• Hebrews 10:16 “This is THE NEW COVENANT I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws IN THEIR HEARTS, and I will write them ON THEIR MINDS.”

Exodus 25:22 “I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.”

• Revelation 2:26-28 “To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, To them I will give authority over all the nations. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots. They will have the same authority I received from my Father, and I will also give them the morning star!”

THE TABLE

Exodus 25:29-30

“Make special containers of pure gold for the table—bowls, ladles, pitchers, and jars—to be used in pouring out liquid offerings. Place THE BREAD OF THE PRESENCE on the table TO REMAIN before me at all times.”

• John 6:35 “Jesus replied, “I AM THE BREAD of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

• John 15:4 “REMAIN IN ME, AND I WILL REMAIN IN YOU. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

THE LAMPSTAND

Exodus 25:36-37 “The almond buds and BRANCHES must all be of one piece with the center stem, and they must be hammered from pure gold. Then make the SEVEN LAMPS for the LAMPSTAND, and set them so they REFLECT THEIR LIGHT FORWARD."

• John 15:5 “Yes, I am the vine; YOU ARE THE BRANCHES. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing”

• Revelation 4:5 “From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were SEVEN TORCHES with burning flames. This is the SEVENFOLD SPIRIT OF GOD.”

• Matthew 5:14-16 “You are THE LIGHT of the world—like A CITY ON A HILLTOP that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, A LAMP IS PLACED ON A STAND, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your GOOD DEEDS SHINE OUT for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

• Being THE LIGHT means having received the Holy Spirit and being God's Temple - His "footstool on earth," spiritually located on Mount Zion, the city called Heavenly Jerusalem.

• No one who has received the Holy Spirit is able to hide it from the world or keep it a secret. I know I can't. God overpowers me, and I rejoice in it! Abba Father!

• Jeremiah 20:9 “But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!”

LIGHT FOR THE TABERNACLE

Exodus 27:20-21

“Command the people of Israel to bring you PURE OIL OF PRESSED OLIVES FOR THE LIGHT, to KEEP THE LAMPS BURNING CONTINUALLY. The lampstand will stand in the Tabernacle, in front of the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant. Aaron and his sons must keep the lamps burning in the Lord’s presence all night. This is a permanent law for the people of Israel, and it must be observed from generation to generation.”

• Luke 12:35-40 “Be dressed for service and KEEP YOUR LAMPS BURNING, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready. “Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would NOT PERMIT HIS HOUSE TO BE BROKEN INTO. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.”

This means - DO NOT FALL INTO TEMPTATION - THE DARKNESS OF SIN. Living in sin means being ASLEEP.

• Matthew 26:40-41 “Then he returned to the disciples and found them ASLEEP. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? KEEP WATCH AND PRAY, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT GIVE IN TO TEMPTATION. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

THE ALTAR OF BURNT OFFERING

Exodus 27:2 "MAKE HORNS for each of its four corners so that the horns and altar are all one piece. Overlay the altar with BRONZE."

• Micah 4:13 “Rise up and crush the nations, O Jerusalem!” says the Lord. “For I WILL GIVE YOU IRON HORNS AND BRONZE HOOVES, so you can trample many nations to pieces. You will present their stolen riches to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.”

INNER CURTAIN

Exodus 26:31-33

“For the inside of the Tabernacle, make a special curtain of finely woven linen. Decorate it with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim. Hang this curtain on gold hooks attached to four posts of acacia wood. Overlay the posts with gold, and set them in four silver bases. Hang the inner curtain from clasps, and put the Ark of the Covenant in the room behind it. This curtain will separate THE HOLY PLACE from THE MOST HOLY PLACE.”

Hebrews 9:1-10

“That first covenant between God and Israel had regulations for worship and a place of worship here on earth. There were TWO ROOMS in that Tabernacle. In the first room were a lampstand, a table, and sacred loaves of bread on the table. This room was called the Holy Place.

Then there was a CURTAIN, and behind the curtain was the SECOND ROOM called THE MOST HOLY PLACE.

In that room were a gold incense altar and a wooden chest called the Ark of the Covenant, which was covered with gold on all sides. Inside the Ark were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron’s staff that sprouted leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant. Above the Ark were the cherubim of divine glory, whose wings stretched out over the Ark’s cover, the place of atonement. But we cannot explain these things in detail now.

When these things were all in place, the priests regularly entered the FIRST ROOM as they performed their RELIGIOUS DUTIES. But only the high priest ever entered the Most Holy Place, and only once a year. And he always offered blood for his own sins and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the entrance to the Most Holy Place was NOT FREELY OPEN as long as the Tabernacle and the system it represented were still in use.

This is an illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are NOT ABLE to cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them. For that OLD SYSTEM deals only with food and drink and various cleansing ceremonies—PHYSICAL REGULATIONS that were in effect only until a better system could be established.”

• John 19:30 “When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “IT IS FINISHED!" Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

Hebrews 6:16-20

“Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, WE WHO HAVE FLED TO HIM FOR REFUGE can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It LEADS US THROUGH THE CURTAIN INTO GOD'S INNER SANCTUARY. Jesus has already gone in there FOR US. He has become our ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST in the order of Melchizedek.”

It happened when Jesus died on the cross.

From three different perspectives:

Matthew 27:50-53 “Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs opened. The bodies of many GODLY men and women who had died were raised from the dead. They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.”

• This is a picture of godly people who put their trust in God. It is also a picture of prophecy told by Daniel and John.

• Daniel 12:2-3 “Many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting disgrace. Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.”

• John 5:28-29 “Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.”

• The meaning is both; physical and spiritual. It will happen physically when Jesus Christ returns, but it's already happening spiritually with those who by faith and repentance turn to God.

• Ezekiel 20:41 “When I bring you home from exile, you will be like a pleasing sacrifice to me. And I will display my holiness through you as all the nations watch.”

Luke 23:44-49 “By this time it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary of the temple was torn down in the middle. Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last. When the Roman officer overseeing the execution saw what had happened, he worshiped God and said, “Surely this man was innocent.” And when all the crowd that came to see the crucifixion saw what had happened, THEY WENT HOME IN DEEP SORROW. But Jesus’ friends, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching.”

• Zechariah 12:10-14 “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died. The sorrow and mourning in Jerusalem on that day will be like the great mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the valley of Megiddo. “All Israel will mourn, each clan by itself, and with the husbands separate from their wives. The clan of David will mourn alone, as will the clan of Nathan, the clan of Levi, and the clan of Shimei. Each of the surviving clans from Judah will mourn separately, and with the husbands separate from their wives.”

Hebrews 10:19-25

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place BECAUSE OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts FULLY TRUSTING HIM. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

CLOTHING FOR THE PRIESTS

Exodus 28:1-2

“Call for your brother, Aaron, and his sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. SET THEM APART from the rest of the people of Israel so they may minister to me and BE MY PRIESTS. Make SACRED GARMENTS for Aaron that are GLORIOUS and beautiful."

• Psalm 4:3 “You can be sure of this: THE LORD SET APART THE GODLY FOR HIMSELF. The Lord will answer when I call to him.”

• Galatians 3:27–29 “And all who have been UNITED WITH CHRIST IN BAPTISM HAVE PUT ON CHRIST, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you."

Colossians 3:1-12

“PUT ON YOUR NEW NATURE, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and BECOME LIKE HIM. In this NEW LIFE, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

Since GOD CHOSE YOU TO BE THE HOLY PEOPLE HE LOVES, you must CLOTHE YOURSELVES with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”

Philippians 3:20-21

“But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and CHANGE THEM INTO GLORIOUS BODIES LIKE HIS OWN, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.”

Ezekiel 1:26–28

“Above this surface was something that looked like a throne made of blue lapis lazuli. And on this throne high above was a figure whose appearance resembled a man. From what appeared to be his waist up, he looked like gleaming amber, flickering like a fire. And from his waist down, he looked like a burning flame, shining with splendor. All around him was a glowing halo, like a rainbow shining in the clouds on a rainy day. This is what THE GLORY OF GOD LOOKED LIKE to me. When I saw it, I fell face down on the ground, and I heard someone’s voice speaking to me.”

THE GRAIN OFFERING

Leviticus 6:14-18

“These are the instructions regarding THE GRAIN OFFERING.

Aaron’s sons must present this offering to the Lord in front of the altar. The priest on duty will take from the grain offering a handful of the choice flour moistened with olive oil, together with all the frankincense. He will burn this representative portion on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Aaron and his sons may eat the rest of the flour, but it must be baked WITHOUT YEAST and eaten in a SACRED PLACE within the courtyard of the Tabernacle.

• 1 Corinthians 5:6 "Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this SIN IS LIKE A LITTLE YEAST that spreads through the whole batch of dough?

Remember, it must NEVER be prepared with yeast. I have given it to the priests as their share of the special gifts presented to me. Like the SIN OFFERING and the GUILT OFFERING, IT IS MOST HOLY.

• John 6:47-51 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. Yes, I am the bread of life! Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. I am the LIVING BREAD that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I WILL OFFER so the world may live, IS MY FLESH.”

• 1 Peter 2:22 “He NEVER SINNED, nor ever deceived anyone.”

• Ephesians 5:2 “Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and OFFERED HIMSELF AS A SACRIFICE FOR US, a pleasing aroma to God.”

Any of Aaron’s male descendants may eat from the special gifts presented to the Lord. This is their permanent right from generation to generation. Anyone or anything that touches these offerings will become holy.”

2 Thessalonians 2:13

“As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through THE SPIRIT WHO MAKES YOU HOLY AND THROUGH YOUR BELIEF IN THE TRUTH."

• 1 John 4:17 “And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.”

1 Peter 2:7-10

"Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they DO NOT OBEY God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them.

But you are not like that, for you are a CHOSEN people. You are ROYAL PRIESTS, a HOLY NATION, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he CALLED YOU out of the darkness into HIS WONDERFUL LIGHT. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

PEACE OFFERING

Leviticus 7:20-21

“If you are ceremonially UNCLEAN and you EAT MEAT from a PEACE OFFERING that was presented to the Lord, you will be cut off from the community. If you TOUCH anything that is UNCLEAN (whether it is human defilement or an unclean animal or any other unclean, detestable thing) and then EAT MEAT from a peace offering presented to the Lord, you will be CUT OFF from the community.”

1 Corinthians 11:23-29

“For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is MY BODY, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the NEW COVENANT between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with MY BLOOD. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” For every time you EAT this bread and DRINK this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.

So anyone who EATS this bread or DRINKS this cup of the Lord UNWORTHILY is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. That is why you should EXAMINE YOURSELF before eating the bread and drinking the cup. For if you EAT the bread or DRINK the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.”

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 "Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. DON'T TOUCH their FILTHY things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

THE BLOOD

Leviticus 7:22-27

The Forbidden Blood and Fat

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. You must never eat fat, whether from cattle, sheep, or goats. The fat of an animal found dead or torn to pieces by wild animals must never be eaten, though it may be used for any other purpose. Anyone who eats fat from an animal presented as a special gift to the Lord will be cut off from the community. No matter where you live, you MUST NEVER CONSUME THE BLOOD of any bird or animal. Anyone who consumes blood will be CUT OFF from the community.”

• Deuteronomy 12:23 “But never consume the blood, for the blood is the life, and you must not consume the lifeblood with the meat.”

John 6:55-57

“For MY FLESH is true FOOD, and MY BLOOD is true DRINK. Anyone who EATS MY FLESH and DRINKS MY BLOOD remains in me, and I in him. I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who FEEDS ON ME WILL LIVE BECAUSE OF ME."

• Ezekiel 33:25-26 “So tell these people, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You eat meat with blood in it, you worship idols, and you murder the innocent. Do you really think the land should be yours? Murderers! Idolaters! Adulterers! Should the land belong to you?’”

• 2 Peter 2:12 "These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed."

Isaiah 34:7

“Even men as strong as wild oxen will die— the young men alongside the veterans. The land will be soaked with blood and the soil enriched with fat.”

Ezekiel 18:4 “For all people are mine to judge—both parents and children alike. And this is my rule:

THE PERSON WHO SINS IS THE ONE WHO WILL DIE."

Trusting God VS. Trusting Money and yourself

Luke 18:9-14

“Then Jesus told this story to some who had great CONFIDENCE IN THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SCORNED EVERYONE ELSE: “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’

“But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest IN SORROW, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Jeremiah 39:18 “BECAUSE YOU TRUSTED ME, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”

Jeremiah 48:6-10

“Flee for your lives! Hide in the wilderness! BECAUSE YOU HAVE TRUSTED IN YOUR WEALTH AND SKILL, you will be taken captive. Your god Chemosh, with his priests and officials, will be hauled off to distant lands!“ All the towns will be destroyed, and no one will escape—either on the plateaus or in the valleys, for the Lord has spoken. Oh, that Moab had wings so she could fly away, for her towns will be left empty, with no one living in them. CURSED ARE THOSE WHO REFUSE TO DO THE LORD'S WORK, WHO HOLD BACK THEIR SWORDS FROM SHEDDING BLOOD!"

• Hosea 6:4-7 “O Israel and Judah, what should I do with you?” asks the Lord. “For your love vanishes like the morning mist and disappears like dew in the sunlight. I SENT MY PROPHETS TO CUT YOU TO PIECES—TO SLAUGHTER YOU WITH MY WORDS, with judgments as inescapable as light. I WANT YOU TO SHOW LOVE, not offer sacrifices. I WANT YOU TO KNOW ME more than I want burnt offerings. But like Adam, YOU BROKE MY COVENANT and betrayed my trust.”

2 Corinthians 10:3-11

“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use GOD'S MIGHTY WEAPONS, NOT WORLDLY WEAPONS, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.

Look at the obvious facts. Those who say they belong to Christ must recognize that we belong to Christ as much as they do. I may seem to be boasting too much about the authority given to us by the Lord. But our authority builds you up; it doesn’t tear you down. So I will not be ashamed of using my authority.

I’m not trying to frighten you by my letters. For some say, “Paul’s letters are demanding and forceful, but in person he is weak, and his speeches are worthless!” Those people should realize that our actions when we arrive in person will be as forceful as what we say in our letters from far away.”
