Why was Isaiah Naked?

Isaiah‬ 20‬:2‬-6‬

“the Lord told Isaiah son of Amoz, “Take off the burlap you have been wearing, and remove your sandals.” Isaiah did as he was told and walked around naked and barefoot. Then the Lord said, “My servant Isaiah has been walking around naked and barefoot for the last three years.

THIS IS A SIGN—-A SYMBOL of the terrible troubles I will bring upon Egypt and Ethiopia. For the king of Assyria will take away the Egyptians and Ethiopians as prisoners.

HE WILL MAKE THEM WALK NAKED AND BAREFOOT, BOTH YOUNG AND OLD, THEIR BUTTOCKS BARED, TO THE SHAME OF EGYPT.

Then the Philistines will be thrown into panic, for they counted on the power of Ethiopia and boasted of their allies in Egypt! They will say, ‘If this can happen to Egypt, what chance do we have? We were counting on Egypt to protect us from the king of Assyria.’”

Isaiah’s prophecy was DISPLAYED PHYSICALLY, but it had SPIRITUAL MEANING.

THE NAKEDNESS IS THE SINFUL LIFE WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT. In this sense, ALL WHO KEEP SINNING ARE ‘NAKED’ because SIN BRINGS SHAME. Adam and Eve realized they were naked - after they sinned. Before sinning - THEY WERE PURE IN SPIRIT AND NOT ASHAMED.

• Genesis 2:25 "Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt NO SHAME."

All Sins will be EXPOSED;

• 1 Timothy 5:24 “Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgment. But there are others whose sins will not be REVEALED until later.”

• Luke 12:2 “The time is coming when everything that is covered up WILL BE REVEALED, and all that is secret will be MADE KNOWN TO ALL.”

Hebrews 4:13

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is NAKED AND EXPOSED before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable."

➡️ Those who put their Faith in our God and Savior Jesus Christ, and REPENT of their sins are ‘CLOTHED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT." 😇

Zechariah 3:4

“Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I HAVE TAKEN AWAY YOUR SINS, and now I am giving you these FINE NEW CLOTHES.”

Galatians 3:27

“And all who have been UNITED WITH CHRIST in baptism have PUT ON CHRIST, LIKE PUTTING ON NEW CLOTHES."

Revelation 16:15

“Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, WHO KEEP THEIR CLOTHING READY so THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO WALK AROUND NAKED AND ASHAMED."

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus Christ! He is God and Savior!

• Isaiah 48:16–17 “Come closer, and listen to this. From the beginning I have told you plainly what would happen.” And now THE SOVEREIGN LORD AND HIS SPIRIT have sent me with this message. This is what the Lord says— your REDEEMER, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL: “I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.”

THE LESSON: do not count on any nation or human leaders. Put your faith in the Lord your God, the only Savior, Jesus Christ!

Hosea‬ 8‬:9‬-14‬

“Like a wild donkey looking for a mate, they have gone up to Assyria. The people of Israel have sold themselves— sold themselves to many lovers. But though they have sold themselves to many allies, I will now gather them together for judgment. Then they will writhe under the burden of the great king.

“Israel has built many altars to take away sin, but these very altars became places for sinning! Even though I GAVE THEM ALL MY LAWS, THEY ACT AS IF THOSE LAWS DON'T APPLY TO THEM. The people love to offer sacrifices to me, feasting on the meat, but I do not accept their sacrifices. I will hold my people accountable for their sins, and I will punish them. They will return to Egypt. Israel has forgotten its Maker and built great palaces, and Judah has fortified its cities. Therefore, I will send down fire on their cities and will burn up their fortresses.”

Psalms‬ 146‬:3‬-10‬

“Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down. The Lord loves the godly. The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. The Lord will reign forever. He will be your God, O Jerusalem, throughout the generations.

PRAISE THE LORD!”

➡️ This prophecy is for ALL the people. It’s a call to REPENTANCE ❗

God’s children are those who REPENT and receive the Holy Spirit - no matter where they live or their background.

Romans 4:9–12

“Now, is this blessing only for the Jews, or is it also for uncircumcised Gentiles? Well, we have been saying that Abraham was counted as righteous by God because of his faith. But how did this happen? Was he counted as righteous only after he was circumcised, or was it before he was circumcised? Clearly, God accepted Abraham before he was circumcised! Circumcision was a sign that Abraham ALREADY HAD FAITH and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous—even before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith but have not been circumcised. They are counted as righteous BECAUSE OF THEIR FAITH. And Abraham is also the spiritual father of those who have been circumcised, but ONLY IF they have the same kind of faith Abraham had before he was circumcised.”

"And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him IN SHAME. Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children."

Revelation 3:15-21

“I KNOW ALL THE THINGS YOU DO, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been PURIFIED BY FIRE. THEN YOU WILL BE RICH. Also buy WHITE GARMENTS from me so you will NOT BE SHAMED BY YOUR NAKEDNESS,

• Isaiah 1:16 "Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways."

• Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them AS WHITE AS SNOW. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them AS WHITE AS WOOL."

and ointment for your eyes so you will be ABLE TO SEE.

• John 9:39 "Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—TO GIVE SIGHT TO THE BLIND and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”

I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

“Look! I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK. IF YOU HEAR MY VOICE AND OPEN THE DOOR, I WILL COME IN, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne."

• Acts 2:38 "Peter replied, “EACH OF YOU MUST REPENT OF YOUR SINS AND TURN TO GOD, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT."

"Jesus replied, “ALL WHO LOVE ME WILL DO WHAT I SAY. My Father will love them, and WE WILL COME AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH EACH OF THEM. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you."

Deuteronomy 30:11-15

“This COMMAND I am giving you TODAY is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach. It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ No, the message is very close AT HAND; it is ON YOUR LIPS AND IN YOUR HEART SO THAT YOU CAN OBEY IT. NOW LISTEN! TODAY I am giving you A CHOICE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH, between prosperity and disaster."

• 2 Corinthians 6:2 "For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “RIGHT TIME” is NOW. TODAY is the day of salvation."

• Matthew 4:17 "From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near."

Luke 3:3 "Then John went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River, preaching that people should be baptized TO SHOW THAT THEY HAD REPENTED OF THEIR SINS AND TURNED TO GOD TO BE FORGIVEN."

• No Repentance = No Forgiveness

Luke 24:47 "It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: "THERE IS FORGIVENESS OF SINS FOR ALL WHO REPENT."

Psalm 7:1-13

"God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right. God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day. IF A PERSON DOES NOT REPENT, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows."

"That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.”

“Who are you?” they demanded.

Jesus replied, “The one I have always claimed to be.”

• Exodus 3:14 “GOD replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.”
