Blasphemy unforgivable sin

The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit;

There are two situations when this happens;

  • Forgivable; When a person is clueless and never heard of it before.

  • Unforgivable; When a person has the knowledge of this sin, and its consequence and speaks against the Holy Spirit (God) in general, or against the words of a person who has the Holy Spirit within them.

Apostle Paul was a blasphemer and a murderer, but he was clueless about it. God forgave him after he learned, begged for forgiveness, and repented.

1 Timothy 1:12-14

"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him, even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus."

He blasphemed the name Of Christ - is it any different than blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? NO. Jesus Christ came from God (the Spirit), He had the Spirit of God during his time in human flesh, and He was resurrected to live in the Spirit. Now He sends His Holy Spirit to those He chooses to do His will.

  • Philippians 1:19 “For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.”

➡️ Therefore, if anyone makes false accusations against a person who received the Holy Spirit; they blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

Mark‬ 3‬:22‬-30

“But the teachers of religious law who had arrived from Jerusalem said, “He’s possessed by Satan, the prince of demons. That’s where he gets the power to cast out demons.” Jesus called them over and responded with an illustration. “How can Satan cast out Satan?” he asked. “A kingdom divided by civil war will collapse. Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart. And if Satan is divided and fights against himself, how can he stand? He would never survive. Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house. “I tell you the truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will NEVER BE FORGIVEN. This is a sin with eternal consequences.” He told them this because they were saying, “He’s possessed by an evil spirit.”

“Do not judge”

  • Those without the Holy Spirit are unable to evaluate others accurately.

  • Those with the Holy Spirit are able to evaluate others because the Spirit of God within them gives them the ability of discernment.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

"But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For,

“Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”

But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ."

  • Psalm 119:169 “O Lord, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised.”

➡️ Every judgment is going to be used against those who give it.

Matthew 7:1-5

“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.”

Matthew 5:22

“But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.”

Matthew 12:36-37

“And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. THE WORDS YOU SAY will either acquit you or condemn you.”

  • people judge themselves by what they say, and thoughts they think.

  • Psalm 94:11 “The Lord knows people’s thoughts; he knows they are worthless!”

Romans 2:14-16

“Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for THEIR OWN CONSCIENCE AND THOUGHTS EITHER ACCUSE THEM or tell them they are doing right. And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.”

➡️ I always make it clear; the Holy Spirit lives within me; He is my teacher and my Savior. My duty is to CONVICT OTHERS OF THER SINS; not in the form of being a judge, but simply by speaking the truth and spreading the Good News. It's for them to realize that they need to REPENT, and The Holy Spirit speaks through me.

Ephesians 5:11-14

“Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, EXPOSE THEM. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their EVIL INTENTIONS WILL BE EXPOSED when the light shines on them, for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,

“Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

  • 2 Corinthians 4:7 “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”

John 16:7-9

“But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, HE WILL CONVICT THE WORLD OF ITS SIN, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.”

John 7:7

"The world can’t hate you, but it does hate me because I ACCUSE IT OF DOING EVIL."

  • John 17:14 “I have given them YOUR WORD. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.”

John 20:21-23

“Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Matthew 10:25

“Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master. And since I, the master of the household, have been called the prince of demons, the members of my household will be called by even worse names!”

1 John 3:14-15

“If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers. it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them.”

1 Corinthians 4:5

“So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.”
